The official language of the symposium will be English. No translation will be provided.

Weather:

The month of May in Siena has a nice average temperature. The weather is warm with temperatures topping out at an average 20-22 degrees Celsius. Daily lows rarely drop below 16 degrees.

Travel:

The nearest international airports to Siena are Peretola Airport in Florence and Galileo Galilei International Airport in Pisa. There are two to three buses daily (Sena line) between Siena and Bologna Airport as well.

Siena is connected to Chiusi railway station (for Rome) and Empoli (for Florence and Pisa). The railway station is about 2 km from the town centre and it can easily be reached by bus in a few minutes.

Electricity supply:

Electricity in Italy uses a Voltage of 220 volts, 50 cycles.

Insurance:

Participants should arrange health and travel insurance prior to departure. The organizers do not assume responsibility for loss, injury or damage to participants and their belongings.

Currency:

The currency used in Italy is Euro.

Presentations:

Presentations can be made by using data projector. All authors are kindly requested to take their presentation on a CD or a USB and upload it on the symposium laptop during the break before their session. Presenters should not use their own laptops.

Best Student Paper Competition:

All papers submitted as student papers will participate in the Best Student Paper Competition. A committee will be evaluating them during the workshop. The award will be given during the closing session.

Proceedings and publication:

All accepted papers for oral and poster presentations will be published in the proceedings that will be distributed at the registration. The condition for publication of a paper is that at least one of the authors should register and pay for the symposium. Additional copies can be purchased at the Registration Desk.

Please note that only presented papers will be submitted for publication in IEEE eXplore. WISP cannot assure publication in IEEE eXplore, but all presented papers will be submitted for potential publication in eXplore.

Submission of full paper:

Please note that WISP cannot accept extended abstracts anymore for the first paper submission. Therefore please make sure that you submit your paper as full paper between minimum 4 and maximum 6 pages.

IEEE Membership desk:

An IEEE membership desk will be set up in the registration area to promote IEEE membership and to subscribe new memberships.

Social programs

A Welcome Dinner will take place on the first day of the workshop - included in the registration fee.
An optional excursion with meal included will take place on the second day of the workshop.
