In 2005 and 2007 the previous SOFA conferences was held in two cities in two countries, started in Hungary and finished in Romania.
To keep the unique feature regarding the venue IEEE-SOFA 2009 conference will be held in Szeged-Hungary and Arad-Romania.
At both venues there will be Internet facilities for the workshop participants.
The official language of the conference will be English.
Passport and visa
You will need a valid passport to enter Hungary. You are responsible for arranging a visa if required. Invitation letters for visa purposes will be issued for registered participants upon request.
IMPORTANT! Hungary, as is the case with most European countries, requires that your passport be valid at least 90 days after you return to your country of citizenship.
The Organizers of the Conference do not provide insurance and do not take responsibility for any loss, accident or illness that might occur during the Conference or in the course of travel to or from the meeting site. It is, therefore, the responsibility of the participants to check their coverage with their insurance provider.
Bank, currency, credit cards
The unit of currency is the Hungarian Forint (HUF), denoted as "Ft" by the Hungarians. International credit cards (AmEx, EC/MC, Visa) are accepted at most hotels, restaurants and shops. Hungary is in the temperate zone, weather in August is usually nice and warm. Daily temperature ranges from 27oC to 30oC and the relative humidity is below 20%, however light showers might occur.
The electricity supply is 220 V AC (50 Hz) both in Hungary and Romania
IEEE Membership desk
An IEEE membership desk has been set up in the registration area for promoting IEEE membership among the attendance and in order to get new memberships.
